Are you asking yourself the right questions?

Ever asked yourself the question, “What am I doing with my life?” Or how about, “What should I do next in my career?”

If you’ve asked yourself any variant of “What do I want?” – you’re in great company because… ME TOO!

Except what I’ve come to learn is that while we often ask ourselves a “What” question, we’re actually trying to answer “How?

  • How do I find a job that lights me up?

  • How do I align my career with topics and activities that suit my unique skills?

  • How do I design a professional life that enables my personal goals?

Why does this matter? Well, it’s about perspective.

A “What” question implies that we don’t know the answer. Like something outside of us that we’re seeking and searching for.

A “How” question implies that the answer is already within us. That what we desire is possible – and our job is to find the way forward.

Which kinds of questions are you asking yourself?

I dove deep into all of this in a recent conversation with my friend Steve on the Career Sweetspot Podcast. Have a listen and let me know what you think!

And if you’re ready to uncover your own answers to these What and How questions, here are two options to help you:
