Designing a Life You Love Begins with Trusting Yourself

Self-trust is something that I’ve been kind of obsessed with for years.

[Look no further than this blog post I wrote a while back: What the World Needs is For You to Trust Yourself]

If you’d asked me years ago, “Ashley, do you trust yourself?,” I would have quickly answered “Of course.”

But what I’ve come to learn is that self-trust isn’t a one-and-done effort; it’s more like an ongoing recalibration process.

We can feel in our authority and grounded in self-trust, and then have one “wrong” decision wipe all that confidence away.

Nowhere in my life has this more true for me than when I got laid off.

I thought I was building the “right kind” of career. And then in an instant, I doubted everything:

My choices

My talents

My story

My value.

What’s your relationship with your own self-trust? In what areas of your life do you doubt yourself? And where in your life is it easier for you to trust yourself?

Try this Out

No matter how you relate to your self-trust, you likely face moments, situations and questions that throw you back into doubt. Is this the right choice? What should I do? How can I be sure this will work?

The truth is that there’s only one person who can answer these questions: You.

But in order to do so, you need to feel firmly connected to your authentic self and grounded in a place of calm self-trust. So how do you do that?

This is what my first workshop for Life Design School is all about – and it’s on sale now!

In “From Self-Doubt to Self-Trust: 4 Steps to Reconnect with Your Authentic Self,” you’ll learn the four steps of Life Design and explore how they can guide you back into the space of self-trust.

In less than 45 minutes you will:

  • Name the areas of your life where you doubt yourself

  • Learn the four steps you can use to guide you back into self-trust

  • Hear how I used these exact steps to grow my own self-trust when I got laid off

  • Reflect on ways to amplify your self-trust and take action to begin trusting yourself right now.

This is one of my most popular in-person workshops, and now it’s ready for you to watch on demand!

Give it a try and see what becomes clear for you!

What to Do Next

My request of you this week is twofold:

First, take note of the situations, conversations and moments in the next few days where you feel doubt creep in. Get curious about it – and ask yourself: what would be different about how I’m showing up or taking action in this moment if I trusted myself to ‘get it right?’

Next, if you know someone who’s struggling with a big decision and doubting themselves, will you share this post with them? I’m really hoping to share these resources with as many people as I can. Thank you for widening our circle!

And hey, as a bonus: I’ve got more on-demand workshops coming out over the next few weeks. Is there a topic you’d like to see covered at Life Design School? Comment and let me know!

Onward,
