Small Moves, Real Momentum

Why iteration outperforms big bets

They say it takes 10 years to become an overnight success. That may be true, but we also know that this “slow and steady” approach is the opposite of the “quick fix” that’s presented to us in the media, sold to us by our vendors, or even valued inside our organizations. Instead, we’re taught that success comes to leaders who take bold action, hustle harder, and make big bets – even if it means sacrificing our team’s (and our own) wellness.

So how do we design a pathway for our teams to achieve our goals – at a sustainable pace? The answer is iteration. In this Salon conversation, we’ll unpack what iteration looks like at various stages of work – from strategy and planning, to experimenting and prototyping, and everything in between. You’ll leave with a clear approach to iteration that you can immediately apply to the work that you and your team do.

* The Innovative Leadership Salon is a “title-free zone” where leaders across organizations and industries come together to explore the common issues and opportunities of leadership. This is a space for active learning and discussion amongst a group of peers. Together, we drop the formalities of traditional networking and the pressure to perform, and we step into a space of honest conversation and authentic connection. If this sounds like a learning experience and conversation you’d like to join, we’d love to have you! And, if you’re not sure this is right for you, reach out to Ashley to chat.
